PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS

Chamber Music Workshop at Stony Brook

The Community Music Programs at Stony Brook welcomes all adults interested in participating in chamber music ensembles for the 2010 – 2011 academic year. Amateur and semi-professional musicians seeking musical community will find a supportive environment in which to develop their instrumental, vocal and ensemble skills.

Participants will be placed in compatible chamber music groups and will meet with a coach for five sessions in preparation for a concert scheduled at end of each semester. Groups are carefully assembled according to skill level and experience. The rehearsal location and times are scheduled at the mutual convenience of the coach and participants. In addition to the five coached rehearsals, groups are encouraged to meet and rehearse on their own.

FALL 2011 SCHEDULE:

October 15th: Registration deadline
October 22nd - January 22nd: Rehearsal period
January 21st & 22nd: Dress rehearsals
January 22nd: Concert at 3:00 pm, Staller Recital Hall

SPRING 2012 SCHEDULE:

March 15th: Registration deadline
March 22nd - June 3rd: Rehearsal period
June 2nd & 3rd: Dress rehearsals
June 3rd: Concert at 3:00 pm, Staller Recital Hall

TUITION: $275 per semester
